What if the monster in your closet was the one hoping you would come say hello? That question captures the appeal of Felipe Femur, an unusually friendly skeleton who has spent more than a decade gathering a world of misfit monsters around him.
Two brothers, one town of unusual monsters
Twin brothers David Vincent Dorn and Russell J. Dorn created Felipe Femur & Friends as a kid-friendly Halloween world. David built much of its look through character design, illustrations, comics and interactive games; Russell helped shape its voice through stories, books, scripts and character personalities.
The setting became Toonstone. Felipe loves music, puzzles and hanging out with friends. Gummy is a toothless werewolf, Sunny is a vampire who enjoys sunshine, and Runny is a witch who is not especially wicked. The jokes come from turning familiar monster stereotypes on their heads.

2015–2017: From Halloween website to books and games
The early character biographies, family activities and short stories appeared online around 2015. By 2016, the project had expanded into browser and interactive game releases, including an original Felipe Femur & Friends adventure. The characters also turned up in illustrated books, comic strips and videos.
The project did not settle into a single format. A monster joke might become a comic. A character idea could become a game. In time the Felipe Femur & Halloween Friends WEBTOON grew to 79 episodes, according to the creators’ 2026 retrospective.

The quiet years: A world that never quite disappeared
As careers and other projects took priority, active development slowed. The website stayed online in different forms; books, comics and games remained scattered across their original platforms. Felipe was no longer regularly being developed, but the characters were still waiting in corners of the internet.
In a September 2026 first-person Creator Corner article for Halloween Love, David described reopening old artwork, rediscovering forgotten characters and realizing just how many pieces of Toonstone had been built.

2026: Toonstone wakes up
The relaunched FelipeFemur.com is now a home for original comics, books, free games, videos, crafts and Halloween guides. Classic material is being reunited with newer work instead of being abandoned in favor of a completely different reboot.
The games arcade offers the old adventures alongside newer mini-games for children and families. The learning library and printable activities give the characters a purpose beyond October 31. The relaunch is less about pretending the past never happened and more about putting the whole monster world back within reach.

A comeback with a soundtrack
Music has become one of the most visible recent additions. The Skeletones — Felipe, Runny, Sunny and Gummy — returned in monster-band form, while Lochness emerged as a larger-than-life pop star with her own eight-track Halloween album.
The official YouTube channel also features recipes from Runny’s Kitchen, kid-friendly scary stories, original songs and animated videos. You can watch a selection of these releases below without leaving the article.

The site’s best starting point is the rebuilt homepage, but the free games arcade is an easy way to meet the cast. Comics, books, original videos and guides fill out the rest of the world. What started as a spooky idea between brothers has become an interconnected little playground of Halloween creativity.
And its guiding idea is still wonderfully simple: monsters do not always have to be frightening to be memorable.
